 Post subject: UK Bikes and Historical tax class

I've posted this on the FB group but though I'd share here as well:

For my UK based classic bike owning buddies.
I just had a call with DVLA about Historical (free road tax) and this is the info I got:
Vehicle must have been made before Jan 77.
They don't automatically roll over to free road tax, you have to:
On the log book, section 7 (blue), 'Tax Class' enter 'Historical', sign and date section 8, take the log book with a valid MOT cert to the local post office, they will check and give you back the MOT but keep the log book, any tax refunds due will be issued from the date you take the docs to the PO.
DVLA will issue a new log book.
